We want every Takybox order to feel like Christmas morning. That said, the sports card and hobby box world plays by its own rules — prices shift daily, products are sealed, and what’s inside is part of the thrill. Before you order, here’s what you need to know about returns and refunds.

Our 90-Day Return Window

We stand behind what we sell. If something goes wrong with your order, you have a full 90 days from the delivery date to reach out and start a return or refund request. That’s three months — way more than the industry standard — because we want you to feel completely confident shopping with us.

The 90-day window applies to:

  • Damaged items that arrived broken or crushed
  • Wrong products shipped by mistake
  • Defective items where Takybox is at fault
  • Unopened, sealed products in their original condition

To start a return, just email us at contact@takybox.com with your order number. We’ll walk you through it.

All Sales Are Final on Opened Products

The sports card industry has its quirks, and one of the biggest is this: once a sealed box is opened, it can’t be returned. Period. This is the standard across the entire hobby, and it protects both you and us from price-pull scams and fraud.

So while our 90-day window covers a lot, it doesn’t cover:

  • Hobby boxes, packs, or cases that have been opened
  • Single cards or graded cards (their value changes too quickly)
  • Mystery boxes and repacks once opened
  • Cards damaged or removed from sealed packs

If your sealed product is still sealed and unused — you’re good to return it within 90 days.

What About Price Changes?

The market never sleeps. Prices on cards and boxes can swing fast — sometimes within hours. Here’s how we handle it:

If the price goes up after you buy. Good news for you — we honor your original price. We’ll never charge you extra.

If the price goes down after you buy. Unfortunately, we can’t refund the difference. Same way we don’t charge you more when prices rise, we can’t give money back when they drop.

Pre-sale items. Same rules apply. The price you paid is locked in, no matter where the market goes.

Order Cancellations

Once you place an order, we get to work fast. Most orders are picked and packed within hours, which makes cancellations tough. Here’s the deal:

  • Already shipped? Sorry, we can’t pull it back. Shipped orders can’t be canceled.
  • Pre-sale items? These can’t be canceled once payment goes through.
  • Need to cancel before shipping? Reach out ASAP. If we can stop the order in time, a 20% cancellation fee applies to cover restocking, payment processing, and lost time.

The fastest way to cancel is to email us at contact@takybox.com with your order number in the subject line.

If Your Order Arrives Damaged

This is rare, but if it happens, we’ve got you covered:

  1. Don’t throw anything away. Keep the product, the box, and all the packing materials exactly as they arrived.
  2. Take photos. Snap clear shots of the damage from a few angles.
  3. Email us within 48 hours at contact@takybox.com. Include your order number and the photos.

Once we review everything, we’ll either ship you a replacement (if available) or issue a full refund. We’ll cover return shipping with a prepaid label — you won’t pay a thing.

Important: If the box is sealed and looks damaged, don’t open it before contacting us. Opening sealed boxes voids damage claims, no exceptions.

What We Can’t Refund

A few things are outside our control. We don’t issue refunds for:

  • Manufacturer defects inside sealed boxes. Centering issues, print errors, surface scratches on cards from the factory — those need to go to the manufacturer (Panini, Topps, Upper Deck, etc.). They have their own claims process and we’ll happily point you in the right direction.
  • Hits you didn’t love. We know the feeling of a disappointing pull, but the card lottery is part of the hobby. We can’t refund based on what was inside the box.
  • Boxes that don’t hit the manufacturer’s “average” insertion ratios. Pulls vary box to box, that’s just how it works.
  • Opened sealed products. Once a seal is broken, the product can’t come back.

Got the Wrong Item?

Mistakes happen. If we sent you something different from what you ordered:

  • Email us at contact@takybox.com within 7 days of delivery
  • Include your order number and photos of what you received
  • We’ll send a prepaid return label and ship the correct product right away — at zero cost to you

How to Return an Item

If your item qualifies for return (sealed, unopened, within 90 days):

  1. Email us first. Send a message to contact@takybox.com with your order number and reason for the return.
  2. Wait for approval. We’ll review your request and reply within 1–2 business days.
  3. Get your return label. Once approved, we’ll send a prepaid shipping label to your email.
  4. Pack it up safely. Put the item back in its original packaging with all the protective materials.
  5. Drop it off. Take it to your nearest UPS, USPS, or FedEx location.

Once we receive the item and confirm it’s in original sealed condition, we’ll process your refund.

How Refunds Are Processed

When a refund gets approved:

  • It goes back to your original payment method (card, PayPal, Shop Pay, etc.)
  • Allow 5–10 business days for the refund to show up on your statement after we approve it
  • Original shipping is non-refundable, unless the issue was on our end
